Besalú is a historic town that has practically preserved its structure of narrow streets, churches, monasteries, Jewish baths, as well as the medieval bridge, the true emblem of the town and of great heritage importance. On Comte Tallaferro street we can find a building from the Romanesque period, from the end of the 13th century. The interior has been completely renovated over the centuries, but on the façade we can still see the Romanesque traces. It is believed that it was initially much larger, but is currently wedged between two buildings. Besalú has bus connections with the main nearby cities such as Girona, Figueres, Olot and Banyoles. The closest train stations are Girona, Figueres and Ripoll. Girona airport is 35 minutes away by car.
