Loved the cats, cannot express enough how amazing they were. The staff were so accommodating and even helped organise a cake for our friend’s bday. Loved our stay and they also had great food and vibes.

SECRET GARDEN CAT BA has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a shared lounge and restaurant in Cat Ba. Open areas are amazing! Bed is comfortable. Food was good, staff was very nice and helpful. Everywhere was clean.

Situated in Cat Ba, 90 metres from Tung Thu Beach, Domik Homestay - Cát Bà features accommodation with a shared lounge, private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. What an amazing Homestay! I was originally going to be in Cat Ba for a single night, but extended it to three because of how comfortable this homestay was (one of the best I have experienced in Vietnam so far). It is run by a great family, and they are very good about making you feel comfortable and at-home. The rooms were very spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the space was clean. I would highly recommend that you stay here if you are in the area! I had every question answered about Cat Ba by the first day, and was able to book motorbike rentals and tours through them :)

Located within 1.2 km of Bai Chay Beach and 200 metres of Ha Long Queen Cable Car, Alex Hostel provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Ha Long. The staff were amazing!! We really couldn’t of asked for anything more, we arrived late (early hours in the morning), and the key was left on the desk for us to let ourselves into our room. We were given the choice of which room we’d like to stay in too. Breakfast was amazing, we were even treated to extra fruit! We were helped out with booking a boat tour, and the owner even got us some dinner before we caught our night bus, as we were going to be short on time to have a shower and get food after our tour. We cannot recommend this hostel enough in Halong!

BBQ Hostel Ha Long 2 features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Ha Long. This 3-star hostel offers room service and a tour desk. Hostel is nice. Jane who runs the Hostel is absolutely amazing! You should choose this hostel just because of here :)

Situated on beautiful Cat Ba Island, The Oversleep Catba Hostel sits along Lan Ha Bay and is just a 10-minute walk from Cat Ba Market and steps from the ferry terminal. This was probably the best hostel we’ve stayed in during three months travelling in the region. It’s very new so everything is in perfect condition, but it’s also all very well thought out. Plenty of storage space in the dorms, nice warm reading lights and good thick curtains around the beds to block out light. Bathrooms are great - very clean, with nice, powerful (and hot if you want) showers. The staff are also wonderful. Toby at the front desk is smiley, warm and always happy to help. Pa Pa in the restaurant/bar is such a beautiful soul and made us feel so welcome every time we walked in the room. The rest of the staff whose names I sadly don’t know made our stay that much better - always smiling and making us feel like we were staying in more than “just” a hostel. Thank you Toby, Pa Pa and everyone else in the team for everything you do!

Located in Cat Ba, 2.8 km from Tung Thu Beach, Catba Buffalo Hostel provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a bar. Great hostel. I had my own room which was clean, spacious and very quiet at night. Staff was very friendly and helped with everything like excursions, renting bikes and food recommendations, thank you guys:). All in all a great place to stay at the beautiful Cat Ba island.

Facing the beachfront, Catba Pod Hostel offers 2-star accommodation in Cat Ba and features a shared lounge, terrace and restaurant. The receptionist Vu was absolutely amazing. He helped us organise a boat trip with kayaking and swimming, as well as recommending the nearby beach and a scenic route. We were only there for 2 days and 1 night and had to cut the second day short because of a storm warning. We would not have been able to maximise our time on Cat Ba without Vu! The hostel was also very comfortable, the loveliest staff at the downstairs restaurant, and would definitely recommend their mango smoothie, you will not regret it! There is also a rooftop bar with a great view of the harbour, where locals sometimes set off fireworks.
