Rooms at Vadstena Folkhögskola Vandrarhem feature simple décor and have private bathrooms. Bed linen and towels are included. To be honest, as an accomodation it was pretty average. But the surroundings, not least for a person interested in history. When booking the room, I didn't realise that it was *so* close to the old convent. Nor did I realise it was so close to lake Vättern (just outside the door) and I sorely regretted not bringing my swimsuit. The staff on site was also brilliant.

Nature reserves, including the ones at the vast lake Vättern, are only 20km aways. Same goes for the motorway E4, which makes the Trehörning hostel a perfect stop when driving cross country through Sweden. We want to return.
