We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful hostel. It feels more like a bed and breakfast than a hostel if you reserve a private room. The room was impeccably clean, very comfortable, and breakfast was quite satisfying! The owners were also so thoughtful and kind, and take amazing care of the property! Even though it was a little rainy, the hiking nearby was really pretty, and it’s easy to hike or drive to explore a few of the schist villages from Lousã. We’d be thrilled to return!!

Featuring a bar selling drinks and snacks, Pousada de Juventude da Lousa is located in Lousã, a 13-minute walk from the Lousã-A Train Station. This youth hostel is 30 km from Coimbra. Very friendly and forthcoming staff. Great facilities: everything available you would hope to find in a hostel (clean showers, [every two rooms share a shower/bath-room], kitchen, lounge, big breakfast room, lockers if you want to store you luggage are available next to the reception, a room for washing clothes was also visible. Towels are provided and there are cabinets in each room to store you belongings. I will definitely visit again if I am in the area once more.
