Amazing location, super comfortable beds, everything was nice and clean. This was one of my favorite stays of my trip, I almost wished I had a longer stay. They also had a bit of the Lord of the Rings soundtrack weaved into the mix of music playing and I LOVED IT. Nice quiet songs I think even a non fan could appreciate and just alternated in there a bit with their other music. For me it created such an amazing atmosphere. If I ever manage to make my way back to Tekapo I'd love to stay here again

Guests enjoy unlimited WiFi per day. Excellent facilities and a wonderful location. We loved the outside areas which made the hostel feel very homely. The owners were wonderful and very considerate and helpful to us when we had a medical emergency on our last day, and we will be definitely be going again!

Lakes Edge Lodge is just a 3-minute drive from Lake Tekapo town centre. A free shuttle service is available to and from Lake Tekapo bus terminal.

The hostel is a 5-minute drive from Church of the Good Shephard and a 14-minute drive from Mt John University Observatory. Great location and views of the lake. The kitchen had all the necessary utensils. Bathroom was clean. Good price for value.

Everything was great! Beautiful location, beautiful interior as well. Haka House is beautiful place that hits into the environment very well (low building, solar power, wood, natural materials…) It is well maintained and exceptionally clean. Kitchen is well equipped, well organised and tidy. Dinning and lounge areas are really nice and have plenty of natural light. Building has sauna, laundry, patio, enough bathrooms and a few different common areas for relaxation. Even if you are not into hiking, it is worth visiting Mt Cook Village and staying at this amazing space.

The self contained dormitory rooms are located at the front of the property and feature 6 rooms with shared facilities. There is also a separate cabin located near the river which offers solar powered lights, a composting toilet and an outside bath tub heated by gas. Loved the isolation the space incredible view of night sky obviously that's not guaranteed spent some time trying to explain to a Chinese girl where Orion's belt lay and significance of belt pointing to Sirius the dog star ⭐ brightest star in the sky not sure if I get through but the whole process of travelling is meeting people so nothing lost Beds comfiest I've stayed in all week
