Lakes Edge Lodge is just a 3-minute drive from Lake Tekapo town centre. A free shuttle service is available to and from Lake Tekapo bus terminal. The location was perfect, from the lounge area you can see the lake.

Location was literally perfect being right next to Lake Tekapo and the Dark Sky Reserve office, which is the entire reason I stayed here. The rooms are quite big with enough space for beds, everyone's belongings, and people, so I never felt stuffy or cramped. The only thing is that be careful to time your showers because the bathrooms can get pretty full between 7-9 waiting for folks to shower. Overall GREAT value and I would stay here again. Check-in office was slightly unclear, but to reduce confusion, walk through the parking lot, there is a big building on your left and two building on the right after the parking lot. Tekapo Backpackers is the righ hand side building closest to The Greedy Cow and the check-in office is by the wooden gate to the LEFT of the actual Tekapo Backpackers building.
