Arrived with the ferry from Bodø to Moskenes and decided to stay in Å for the night to start our Lofoten trip at the southern point. Authentic old rorbu house in the middle of Å. We were skeptical towards shared bathrooms but were pleasantly surprised. They were very clean. In fact, the one we used as a family has not been used, and the facility was fully booked. It is very nice to have a mutual understanding and respect of spaces when shared with others. We got to see the catch of the day from a group that just returned from a fishing trip, which was very exciting for our little one. See fish being gutted, seagulls swarming the area, and crabs fighting on the ocean bed below in the crystal clear water. The room was spacious and had a sink, which was a plus, so one could wash their face and brush teeth in the morning.

Friendly and very helpful owner. Great location for climbing Stetind and many other nice mountains in the area.

I only stayed for a night, but I found the bed and shower both very comfortable. The location is also very convenient for that kind of stay, as the hostel is in the same building as the train station (and a short walk from the ferry quay).
