They were such a lovely and friendly couple. They helped me with information about the island and got a really good lunch for the hike and an excelent breakfast. Totally worth staying here.

La Urraca Loca Hostel se encuentra en Balgue, a 16 km del volcán Maderas, y ofrece restaurante, bar, jardín y wifi gratis. El alojamiento cuenta con zona de parrilla y terraza. The owners have created a paradise in Balgue. Loved every bit of it and I think they are travellers themselves because some details were already arranged in the rooms and the facilities. I felt pretty relaxed in the hostel and the people who run it and work for it organised the activities I wanted.

El Raindance se encuentra en Santa Cruz y ofrece pileta al aire libre, jardín, bar y wifi gratis en todas las instalaciones. Out of all my years travelling, I’ve never found somewhere that has ticked literally every box. It’s so clear that the owners have spent many years backpacking as everything has been thought of from a back packers perspective. As well as amenities, the vibe is so goooood. The chilled nights are chilled and the party nights are banging. The music and food, the staff, the location, everything! Thank you soooo much to Charlie, Styx and the gang for looking after me and attending to my every need. I’m so gutted I had to eventually leave. Love and appreciate you guys! May we meet again! I reccomend rain dance to everyone.

El Loren's house se encuentra en Moyogalpa y ofrece jardín. Las habitaciones del hostel tienen terraza con vistas al jardín. quiet location but close to everything, nice outside area, friendly hosts, good value for money

El Sophie House se encuentra en Moyogalpa y ofrece salón compartido, jardín, terraza y wifi gratis. Este hostel de 3 estrellas cuenta con mostrador de información turística. It’s a bit aside from the port city Moyogalpa, so it’s very calm and almost no cars and people here, but still easy to reach by foot from the Centre (15 min walk). It has breakfast included and it’s home cooked food by the family. My room was very spacious, with 1 double and 1 single bed. They had outlets outside and inside, so i could work online here. Ask for both WiFi passwords! The host family was very nice and always tried to help, like when I needed a dentist they found a number. They don’t speak English (as most locals here) but with my broken Spanish and google translate we always understood each other. You can also ask them about the laundry option. Thanks for hosting me!

Este pequeño hostel familiar se encuentra a solo 2,5 km de Altagracia. Rodeado de naturaleza y cerca de Ogo de Agua, Altagracia, Vulcano Conseption y muchos más. El alojamiento alberga un bar. The place was clean and comfortable and the hosts were very kind and helpful.

El Pital, Chocolate Paradise se encuentra en Balgue y ofrece restaurante, bar, salón compartido y jardín. Es ambiente es una buena combinación de naturaleza y al mismo tiempo moderno y tranquilo. El personal en el bar y la recepción muy amable!

El Zopilote Permaculture Farm/hostel es un hostel para mochileros y una granja de permacultura al mismo tiempo. Off the grid, welcoming Hostel. Once you walk the 5min path in the jungle, you arrive in the most charming place. I loved the vibe here. The staff is very helping and welcoming. Very good vibe among the guests. Plenty of workshops to keep yourself busy everyday. The sunset from the mirador is beautiful. I’ll be back <3
