Ideally set in the centre of Yangon, HOOD Hostel features air-conditioned rooms, a bar and free WiFi. The property is close to several well-known attractions, 700 metres from Mahabandoola Garden, 1 km from Yangon Central Railway Station and 700 metres from Saint Mary's Cathedral. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen, a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage for guests. Location was great-in the heart of the city. Breakfast (free) was good. They have a reasonably priced laundry service.

Modern full service 5 star hotel. Elegant common areas, spacious room and hallways. Well maintained and staffed with thoughtful polite and efficient employees. Great location loction near downtown and the airport. Myanmar Plaza attached which is a clean mall offering many food and shopping options. Really good diverse breakfast buffet offering world class service. Our room had a fantastic view of the Shwedagon Pagoda.

The staff were great. Always friendly and willing to help with any issues. They were able to advise where the nearest money exchange with good rates was, and also helped when I had issues with the room. Beds are comfortable and have privacy curtains, and charging sockets near the bed. The hostel has few issues with electricity dropping out unlike the rest of Myanmar. Breakfast was very good too.

It's being run by student undertaking the hotel course, they are friendly and energetic. Everything has been beyond my expectation, this hostel is better than most hostels I have stayed in Europe. You can hardly see a foreign tourist in the country at the moment due to the political situation, but the city itself is very safe to travel. Grab your ticket and visa and explore this beautiful country with amazing people!
