Chill House Hostel is a wonderful place to stay in Anuradhapura. It’s a little nature oasis, where you can experience the simplicity of life in a beautiful way and yet being very close to the city and practically located to the bus and train station. Once I arrived there I was truly released that I found this place to recharge and relax and yet it was very easy to go to the city to explore or eat etc. Also it’s located a few footsteps away from a lake. The two hosts are welcoming you with a lot of hospitality and warmth and you easily feel at home and that you could stay there for a long long time. It’s a small hostel with one dorm with four beds, which makes it really charming, because you easily come into contact with the other guests and also the hosts. It’s very clean compared to many other places I have been in Sri Lanka. Just with being there you can observe different kind of birds, squirrels, monkeys and other animals and spend a very relaxing time with chatting and enjoying the moment. The hosts are very helpful and supportive with organising your stay. I highly recommend staying there if you love calm and relaxing places close to nature with a lot of warmth and if you’re curious about a beautiful and simple sri lankan lifestyle. Thank you for the beautiful time I could spend there. I will definitely come again when I visit Sri Lanka again.

The Lake Hostel - with views over Habarana Lake beschikt over een tuin en een gedeelde lounge, en bevindt zich in Habarana, op 11 km van Pidurangala-rots en 12 km van Sigiriya Rock. Super cute place to stay in an amazing location - the views are so beautiful! It was also great value, was perfect for us travelling students :) We came as four friends for one night and really recommend.

Hele gezellige eigenaar, vriendelijk en helpt je overal mee. Daarnaast kan hij een fiets voor je regelen wat echt top is, omdat je hierdoor makkelijk en goedkoop bij de tempels kan komen. Het was wel meer een home stay dan een echt hostel.

It is a small guesthouse but rooms are large and spacious. There is plenty of ventilation with the ceiling fan and you sleep well at night. It is exactly like some of the other reviews, you are staying inside the jungle or a large botanical garden! It is within walking distance from the ancient city and just an inexpensive tuk-tuk ride from the new city which you do not want to stay in. The Coco Gardens is where you want to stay!
