He had local knowledge and he freely picked me up and dropped me off at the station. He also reserved a restaurant for us and gave us sightseeing recommendations. The facilities were good and the lounge was amazing. If I ever come back, which is unlikely, I will come back to this hostel.

Opened in May 2016, Hostel Mt. Fuji - FUKUYA is set in Fujiyoshida, 1.4 km from Fujikyu Highland. Gekkoji Station is 450 metres away and Fujisan Station is 1 km away. The owner is an absolute sweetheart. She runs the hostel by herself and does all the cleaning and hostel preparations for your arrival. She is fluent in English as well which is a big plus to foreign travelers. I contacted her that I was going to be checking in slightly late and she said it was alright. The first night I stayed in a bunk and the 2nd night was a private room. I slept very well both nights and the hostel has a very home-y feeling to it. The location is also excellent being <10minute walk from Gekkouji station. Owner recommended me to visit Arakurayama park to get a view of Mt fuji and it was worth it. I went at sunrise with other travelers. It is about 15 minute walk to the location.
