Hilo Hostel is located in Nara, within less than 1 km of Nara Station and 18 km of Iwafune Shrine. The 3-star hostel has air-conditioned rooms with a shared bathroom and free WiFi. The staff were amazingly kind, friendly, and generous. They went out of their way to make sure I had an excellent experience and not only in Nara but in Japan in general. They are true ambassadors of Japan. I will definitely visit again if I am ever back to Nara- japan .

Great hospitality, all the people in the staff were so friendly and open to have a nice conversation. The recommendations from the host were really helpful and the house it's an amazing traditional Japanese house. The location was second to none because it is close to both train stations and just a few steps from the central area of Nara. Also they rent bicycles for a very good price for hour or day, that saved me a lot of time.

Just 200 metres from Nara Park, Nara Backpackers offers affordable accommodation with free Wi-Fi. The traditional, 100 year-old house includes a modern free-use kitchen with microwave. This property was stunningly beautiful, a wonderful old Japanese tea house. We were absolutely delighted. Not for those looking for a luxurious modern hotel, but absolutely perfect for us. Very close to everywhere we wanted to go, right next to Nara park, but not far from the station. Takashi, our host, was charming and spoke perfect English. He recommended where to go and returned to the house to show us how to turn the heating on when it got cold. We had a wonderful stay and we already miss it!

Set in Yoshino, 35 km from Subaru Hall, ゲストハウス 鍼灸院 boshcetto offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking and a shared lounge. The staff was super friendly and helpful. That alone is worth coming here. The front room is so cozy and there is a massage machine. Location wise you can do Yoshino by walk during a day going up and back and you could even choose the quiet path starting north. There is nothing to do see but it is tranquil as you also don't see the hordes of tourists.

Set in Tenkawa, Guest House POST INN features a bar. With a shared lounge, the 2-star hostel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a shared bathroom. Great bar area with lots of drinks. Fantastic dinner and breakfast (well worth choosing after booking). Comfy simple room. Parking available and great walks near the guesthouse.
