They are such helpful, kind and warm people who really care about their hostel and their guests. You will without a doubt love them:) The common hangout area is so nice and big with both tables, hammocks, couches and a big bed. There is also a nice bar with cheap drinks and it is a really nice place to hang out. The kitchen is big, and there was drinking water available. The location is really nice, as it is right in the center and walking distance from both the beach and anything else. It is not on the main road which is really nice, because it is more quiet at night.

The owner has quite a few dogs and some Horse too. If you want you can book a ride. I didn't as I am a bit afraid of riding anything with their own brain! The hostel was one of the most peaceful in my travels to the point where I can imagine not wanting to leave. The town itself has little actual activities except for the really nice beaches. I hiked for about 35 minutes to one very nice one that was totally like the one from the movie the Beach. Road there gets a bit rough the last 1/4 mile. Just can't drive faster than about 15 mph. I have a feeling in 5 more years this whole area will blow up like so many of the other gems.

Loved the people, the staff was so nice and welcoming. Also loved how close the beach was to the hostel!

Hostel La Ballena Backpacker er staðsett í Las Galeras, í innan við 700 metra fjarlægð frá Las Galeras-ströndinni og 1,2 km frá La Playita-ströndinni. The comunal area isn't very big so it helps interaction between the guests. Also the staff, in particular the volunteer- Isabella (hard not to have a crush on Isabella!) are super cool.

Watermelon House er staðsett í Santa Bárbara de Samaná og í innan við 1,6 km fjarlægð frá Cayacoa-ströndinni en það býður upp á garð, reyklaus herbergi og ókeypis WiFi hvarvetna á gististaðnum.
