Offering a barbecue and sun terrace, Peanuts Hostel & Meer is set in Schwedeneck-Grönwohld in the Schleswig-Holstein Region. Some rooms have views of the sea or garden. Very nice hostel stay, the hostel is nicely remote. It is very clean and cosy. The owner is very friendly and you can see that she loves her work a lot. Around the hostel are nice spots to relax, there were plenty of tables and chairs. The beach is close by (3km, quick drive but also walkable). Bring some food yourself, the kitchen is well equipped. Coffee and tea was provided. There is a basket with some drinks and snacks to buy if you have forgotten some, bring cash. There is no WiFi, but reception is good and there are loads of games, books, puzzles etcetera to entertain yourself.

Extensively modernized in 2018, Jugendherberge Heide is centrally located in Heide. The hostel has a garden with a terrace and there is free WiFi access available. Big, clean rooms and facilities.

Set directly on the banks of Ratzeburg Lake, this contemporary hostel features a sauna, a daily buffet breakfast and a lakeside terrace. Kind people in the reception. Silence. Confortable bed (for me). Young people around. No TV in the room.
