Probably the best hostel I've been to in Costa Rica. Very clean and well located, dorms of a decent size, plenty of common space both indoor and outdoors. Would definitely recommend

Situated within 500 metres of Negra Beach and 1.6 km of Cocles Beach, La Tribu Boutique Hostel for women features rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Puerto Viejo. It was really friendly and the location was perfect about everything. Close to the beach , close to the shop.

Offering a restaurant, Cabinas Algebra is located 2.5 km from Cahuita. Situated only 100 metres from Playa Grande beach, it features free WiFi and on-site parking. Everything was great, the room, the garden ( I saw a sloth) the location, wifi, breakfast etc. The lady and her son were very helpful and kind, they asked me for a taxi when I needed it, even when I had to leave early at 5am to catch my bus, they got up early and made my breakfast. They made me feel so comfortable. thanks a lot for the great stay. :)

Situated in Jaloba, Amaya's Hostel features a garden, shared lounge and terrace. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen, a tour desk and luggage storage for guests. The property was great. Perfectly located within the village. Clean room and facilities. Many hammocks around to unwind in. The locals are super friendly. Vicky next door is a real gem! We can’t wait to go back

The property has a garden, as well as a shared lounge. this place is a MUST if you go to puerto viejo you will feel at home and meet amazing people including the staff the common area are amazing the Rooms and bathrooms are clean the kitchen is very good very good location and safe there are always activities the hostel can arrange everything for you (renting bikes, going to Boca del toro by bus) the place is so amazing that it’s so hard to leave people extended a lot of time their stay

Arcari Garden Hostel is located just 400 metres from Tortuguero National Park, just a few steps from the sea shores and features free WiFi access is available in all areas. The staff was very nice and helpful. There is plenty of space with sofas and hammocks if you want to chill for a day. The rooms are good with comfortable beds. We booked all tours at the hostel and not in advance. It worked well and the guide was 10/10. They also arranged transfers.

Set in Puerto Viejo, 500 metres from Negra Beach, El Clan Hostel offers accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a bar. Rihanny at the front desk is a total star. Calm, pleasant, warm and helpful she made our stay exceptional. The hostel was a joy, wonderful grounds with a resident sloth (Raoul), a number of agouti and most wonderful...the red straberry dart frogs. There are flowers at every corner and the trees and lush vegetation add ambiance and privacy. They have a good system for food storage in the shared kitchen and a nice little pool area.

Close to the town, but still quiet in the evening and night time . Clean, cozy and animals everywhere. We had a great time, thank you Tasty Dayz!

Set in Tortuguero and with Tortuguero Beach reachable within a few steps, Chinitas Eco Lodge offers a tour desk, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a terrace. Guests can enjoy garden views. This place is truly paradise! An authentic eco-lodge run by a lovely local family. This lodge is located in San Francisco which is a neighboring village, a short 5-10 minute boat ride from the main village of Tortuguero. You can take a private boat taxi or catch the local boat service for very cheap. I truly enjoyed staying in San Francisco rather than Tortuguero. The village is much more local, with very few tourists, offering a slower and more authentic local experience. Geraldo, Ana Rita, and Victor made me feel like family during my entire stay. Geraldo was a guide in this area for over 40 years and has so many lovely stories to share about his life here. Ana Rita is the master administrator and lovely matriarch of the family that can help you with booking any tours, boat transfers, or services that you require during your stay. Victor has great energy and prepared beautiful meals for me daily which were healthy, filling, and varied from day to day. I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful lodge for 5 nights. Most people only stay in the area for 2-3 nights but I definitely recommend extending your stay because the local area and lifestyle has so much to offer. During my stay, my room was cleaned daily and the sheets were changed every other day which was a lovely addition I wasn't expecting. Just from the property, I was able to see a variety of different wildlife passing through such as toucans, tiger herons, and a variety of other birds and frogs. I couldn't have asked for a more amazing and tranquil experience. I hope to return once more and spend another week with this lovely family in the future.
