The Riding Fool, located in an old building, has retained its quaintness and sense of historical charm. The facilities, including the shared kitchen and the bathrooms were immaculate. Our room was extremely comfortable. If we find ourselves in Cumberland again we will definitely stay here!

Cute little guest garden where we sat and listened to a concert being hosted next door. Great community. Made me want to move in! I was really sad I only booked one night. Lots of interesting things to do around the place, amazing local trails, restaurants and a local museum. It was tastefully decorated and furnished. It was spacious with plenty of good cooking and storage facilities. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms fresh and airy. We enjoyed the pool table and dart board.

Riding Fool was incredibly clean, staff incredibly helpful ("Are you the guy with the Subaru? Your lights are on."), and very quiet, maybe because it wasn't mountain biking season and there was a somewhat older clientele.

It's always great to have a stopover at the riding Fool Hostel on my way up or down Vancouver Island. This hostel concept is super user-friendly. Facilities are great, especially the large open living room space with the fireplace in the middle.
