Located in a quiet oceanfront area on the island of Averøy, this former Bacalao (salt modified and dried cod) factory has been restored into a rustic guesthouse. The brightly decorated studio apartments tell you the ancient history of the building. The rooms come with views of the Atlantic Ocean from French balconies. Kristiansund town center is 10km away. The Atlantic Ocean Road is 25km away. Easily the best place I have stayed at in Norway (but I’ve been mostly camping and staying at hostels). This place had everything. Cute location, beautiful waterfront few, cosy ocean decorations, in-room kitchen and shower (with sharp knives!), free laundry, top-notch friendly and casual staff with lots of local knowledge of Norwegian culture, a downstairs restaurant serving local food… I really wish I stayed here for a much longer time, but I had to get on the road again.

Our favourite accommodation during our trip in Norway. Far beyond expectations, for a very reasonable fare. It made other accommodations (often more expensive) pale in comparison. Easy communication with the owners. The type of room you wish yourself in every visited place.

The property has mountain and garden views, and is 1.9 km from Sparebanken Møre Arena. The guest house features family rooms. Tor is a great host and we spent two very comfortable nights in his apartment. There was everything you could possibly need stored in creative and cozy ways. We enjoyed the music box while cooking and after a short time got used to the gas stove. We had a really nice time and enjoyed our stay and when we come back to Ålesund we will definitely stay here again!

As we were the only customers during that night, we had full "private" access to the entire facilities (jacuzzi, extremely large TV and excellent sound system, small fitness room, kitchen,...). Quiet like no other place, very comfortable beds. Kitchen is very well furnished, clearly stuffed by someone that uses it themselves. The amount of facilities is outstanding.
