Situated in a historic building right at the heart of Melnik, Penzion U Zámku is only 30 metres away from Melnik Castle. The property has been awarded The Best Guesthouse of 2017 Award. The room was lovely. It was larger than we expected -- two rooms (and one had some parts of a ceiling mural from Medieval times). Both rooms had heaters, which were both needed and welcome. The beds were super comfy. A very cozy apartment for a really good price. The staff was friendly, spoke English (though we had enough Czech to communicate with them as well). The location was just off the central square, so fairly convenient to everything in the center.

THE BREAKFAST WAS VERY RICH AND SO DELICIOUS. THE RESTAURANT BELLA CASA IS AMAZING, TOO. THE MEAL WAS SO DELICIOUS AND WE ENJOYED EVERYTHING THERE.

Large, light, modern, comfortable, clean. The landlord is a really friendly and nice man. We spent 3 nights with our grandson there, it was like a paradise for him. There were some toys and he could run around the apartment.

On our cycling trip from Amsterdam to Prague we spent a night at Pension Berten. Nice large room and a wonderful breakfast. But the best part was our enthusiastic host. Unfortunately we were on a mission to get to Prague but if we visit Strašice next time well take some time to explore the surroundings.

We received a very nice welcome, the location was great, we were able to walk to grocery store and restaurants. Our host made an excellent recommendation for breakfast, and called ahead so we were expected when the restaurant open. Our room was spacious. There was a safe space in the courtyard for our bikes. All around a great experience.
