I was in the hostel Gaia for 2 nights and I'm sorry there is no room for more. Everything was perfect. The service of Diana was amazing and professional, the rooms were clean, the water in the shower was hot, the kitchen was fully equipped, there was wireless internet everywhere, the place offered billiards, a library, TV or just sitting in a nice yard and drinking coffee. Also, the location of the hostel in the center and from there you can reach anywhere in the city. And the price is of course very fair. Therefore, run to book at Hostel Gaia!!!

really beautiful, spacious property that’s been in operation for a few months. not a super social hostel, more private and tranquil. perfect if you’re looking for a place to relax or work. very comfy bed, well equipped kitchen, nice hot shower, clean bathroom, lots of areas to lounge and relax, attentive staff. i would definitely stay here again when in san cris!

Despite the language barrier (I don't speak Spanish..), the staff are always friendly and accommodating. I booked a flight arriving Tuxtla Gutierrez late, didn't know that the transportation options to San Cristobal would be limited, I might only be able to arrive San Cristobal at 1 or 2am after midnight. The host allows me to move my booking for a day. I really appreciate that. The bed is big and comfy. It's also very nice to be able to use the shared kitchen facilities. Location is great - close enough to the main street area yet very quiet from the busy area at night. They do not have a front desk but not a problem - they are very responsive when messaging them with questions I had during the stay.
