Staff are extremely friendly, conversational and accommodating. They helped me set up the perfect romantic moment for a wedding proposal - we went for a snorkel at the surrounding Gilis, and while we were in the water they set up a beautiful spot to drink champagne and watch the sunset. Alain and Ita are wonderful people and we were sad to leave - the food that they make with their own recipes was of the highest quality and finest flavour. Their prices are also a lot lower than the rest of Gili Gede. Tanjungan should be on the top of the list for anyone visiting Gili Gede.

Had a quick stopover for the night on my way to bangsal harbour from down south. Was a really nice and relaxing stay, perfect to rest and chill. The room was huge! With an extra indoor sitting area, private bathroom and little kitchen with water refill plus hot water for tea. Was very clean, comfortable and quiet away from the main road. The host Halil was very warm, kind and funny and his wife seemed lovely too although I didn't speak with her much. I was able to order a nice dinner from a lovely friend or neighbour. A very relaxing stop over, I would happily stay for longer due to the warm and friendly feeling.
