If you ever take this hotel, do ask the owners for advice on where to eat - they don't offer breakfast themselves as the hotel is tiny, but the places they recommend are generally super authentic and cost friendly. Perfect for dodging tourist traps in Fenghuang.

The owners were so friendly and helpful. There were lots of nice touches such as little gifts like fruit and flowers and even sweets from their downstairs shop. We are on a cycling tour and they let us store all five bikes inside the hotel and even carried them upstairs for us! The hotel was a two minute walk from the best viewpoints of the ancient city.
