The hosts at Aurora were some of the most helpful and welcoming that I've ever had. They greeted us with Tibetan tea on our arrival and when we left, they gave us a small gift bag. We visited during the Spring Festival so some things were closed and transport was not as available, they helped us with this issue. The hotel is located out of Old town and is a 15 minute drive away. They arranged private drivers for hire, drove us into town whenever we needed and helped us organize our COVID tests. They took us to the hospital and to the bus terminal and helped us plan everything. They spoke English and were always available on Wechat. They provide free breakfast and offer dinner on site. This family is so sweet and so extremely helpful! I will be returning simply because of how warm and welcoming they were.

The owner made our stay really comfortable. A very nice lady, speaks English. The place got its own parking. A big advantage when you are with the luggage and kids. Walkable distance to restaurants and attractions. Really quite at night (THE most important for me).

We stayed in the second floor corner room and the view was gorgeous. The owners were a quiet family who turned off all the lights by 10 pm and we realized we could see a very starry night! Those who want to catch a better star gazing should go out to the path up the hill for a little darker. 😌 this area is also very quiet during day and night. Another thing that must be noted is that the wife and the son who run the kitchen are amazing cooks and we had the best meals out of all the hostels that we had during our trip at the Gorge. Strongly recommend the noodle soups, the steamed garlic eggplant and the crispy fried potatoes. Also Strongly recommend for girls travelling alone because the owners do take care of you like your auntie and uncle, even though they may get busy some time, but we got lost on our hike and they were ready to call for help when we didn’t return by sunset! P.s the hostel has a very cute corgi 😍

The local breakfast was delicious and filling and cheap. The owner of the hotel went out of her way to help us. She rang drivers to find us transport. She rang hotels for us. Any problems or questions she has, she helped us find solutions. She was wonderful. The rooms are beautiful too. There are so many beautiful authentic features. We had an electric fire in our room which was lovely in the cool mornings.

Lovely place which is well decorated and situated in a convenient area in the old town. We were greeted by a mother and daughter and their car and dog, they were so friendly and made us feel very welcome ☺️

I was there in January, the room was very warm inside with AC and electric mattress, and very important there was always hot water. Good location opposite Guishan Park and the staff is really kind and helpful.

Sean is a great host, very friendly. He gave us information for our next day's hike. Food was great and good value
