Built in traditional Torajan style, Rura Raya Homestay is situated in Rantepao. The rooms here offers modern comforts and while maintaining the traditional decor. What a lovely homestay! Everything is done with love and attention. A warm welcome by the family, fantastic food, lovely rooms with a spectacular view. And no noise, only the sounds of nature 😊( in Rantepao the mosk will wake you up early in the morning, or great chance there is a karaoke bar somewhere). Highly recommended!

Offering an accommodation with a dive centre, Happy Gecko Dive Resort is located on Bunaken Island in North Sulawesi, just steps from the island’s world-famous beaches and diving sites. The place was so peaceful, and the house reef a 10 minute swim away. Good coral and lots of fish. It was so nice that divers and snorkelling were with the same boat. Food is good. It is not spicy, but there is delicious sambal to add if you like. There is a fridge full of cold Bintang and soft drinks. Things are well organised, and Willeke is great and kind host. We had a wonderful time PS. We read that the beach could be polluted with rubbish. But is our travels we have seen that this can happen at any beach if the current is in that direction. Guesthouse Guesthouse The 4 Fish is located in Tongkaina. Just 18 km from Manado and a 10-minute walk from a dive centre. The view from the terrace, the hospitality from Lea and her lovely attentive team, the chilled atmosphere, the nice pool.

Located in Bunaken, 3WILL Bunaken Dive Resort is only a short distance from beautiful snorkelling and diving spots. It boasts a diving centre, massage services and a tour desk. What a gem! The food is excellent, the room comfortable, the diving incredible and the staff … wow! Everyone from the dive guides and crew to the kitchen and house/grounds keeping staff were very attentive, taking care of the needs of their guests. We can’t say enough about our experience here!

Located right on Bara Beach in Bira, Cosmos Bungalows offers a beautifully simple beachfront accommodation where each bungalow has sea view. Free on-site parking space for guests who drive. The bungalows are simple and very nicely decorated. The views are to die for. I loved the stairs straight down to the beach, the hammock on the veranda, simplicity, small scale and the overall value for money. The food is yummy and the staff and owner very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. Also, check out the diving centre next door, GaiaOne Boutique diving.

Located on Bunaken Island along the Pangalisan Beach, Cakalang Resort offers diving and snorkeling opportunities on-site. It has a restaurant and a 24-hour front desk. The food was very good. Ferdinand was great, the ferry wasn't running so he was able to find alternative transportation back and forth so we didn't miss out on our time at Bunaken. The reef is right in front of the facility.

Set on a mountain with views of natural scenery, Gardenia Country Inn is a 10-minute drive from Tomohon Traditional Market. The property is just gorgeous. It's big, so you can roam around seeing the views towards the volcanoes. It's full of flowers everywhere, and there are tons of wild birds that visit the place, so it's a great place for birders and photographers. The area looks more like a park or garden, just beautiful. The restaurant area is very cozy, and you can easily spend a few hours relaxing on the terrace. We also liked the staff, always ready to help and assist you. The manager is very friendly and communicative, with great insight into the area and local costumes. The cabins are spacious, clean, and comfortable , with great views from the front terrace. They are located on the edge of the property, so they have a lot of privacy.

Bunaken Divers Sea Breeze Resort is located on a quiet spot on Pangalisang Beach, just 80 metres from the finest sites in the Marine Park. It provides free Wi-Fi and a PADI-certified diving centre. Gorgeous location, incredibly friendly and helpful staff, relaxing atmosphere and absolutely world-class diving :)
