The whole area is beautifully arranged and maintained; it's wonderful to be surrounded by trees and woken up by birds. The pool is small but very nice. The staff are there if you need them, but otherwise you can fully enjoy your privacy. Jose was all smiles, such a friendly guy. The villa itself was super clean, spacious and convenient, and the daily cleaning service was very thorough. I was prepared for insects in the room, power/water problems etc but there were no such issues at all. People complaining in the reviews about dampness/smell or gravel garden paths should really get a grip. Oh, and don't miss the Chan Paal tortilleria just across the road. They have exquisite food and super cool staff.

Villa Marilu B&B in Bacalar provides adults-only accommodation with a private beach area and a garden. This beachfront property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi. Wonderful room with lake view, approach to the lake, a comfortable bed, closeness to good restaurants (thanks to Edward for recommendations). Clearness, good breakfast. We liked the place.

The cabaña is perfect if you want a quiet getaway from the busy down town of Isla Mujeres. The cabaña is fully equipped with everything you might need and with the Coffee Bus serving great coffee just outside, breakfast and snacks are easy. We enjoyed the eating oppurtunities just down the street.
