If you are into traveling around the island with a rented car (especially into the mountains) and you prime functional accommodation with a more than reasonable price, this is it. Put that together with two of the most friendly, atentive, and accommodating hosts I have ever met, and you get a picture of what waits for you if you book this place.

Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony, Blue Ocean Villa is set in Ponta do Sol. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi.

Blue Ocean Villa is a brand-new home built into the side of the hill in Ponta da Sol. The view was amazing and the villa was spotless. The TV and Wifi worked great and the kitchen was somewhat stocked - we had to ask for salt/pepper and dishwasher/Laundry detergent but that won't be a problem for the next person and the host was very responsive and brought all sorts of stuff. It is comfortable for 4 people - we were a family of 4 with two teen boys. We had plenty of towels and dishes. The location was pretty good - there are a few little snack bars right next door (we didn't try them though) and we got most of our groceries at a gas station just a 5 minute drive down the hill. A car is definitely necessary here but you are in walking distance to a beautiful local church, great views, and two amazing levada hikes - Levada do Moinho and the one above, Levada da Novo (very dangerous and NOT for little kids though). There is a full BBQ and awesome seating outside though we didn't try the BBQ. Overall it was a great stay.

The House of Passos, loma-asunto kohteessa Ponta do Sol

Located in Ponta do Sol and only 2.8 km from Lugar de Baixo Beach, The House of Passos provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking.

We stayed 1 week and were pleased. Levada Nova is out the back gate and down the stairs. Owners live next door. They cooked us beef skewers (on a stick) one night, which was a great treat. They also provided us with loads of fruit during out stay. Local cake and wine waiting for us upon arrival too. The place was as advertised and the treatment was a bonus. Smooth check in with the property manager Veronica (She was very nice too).
