Beautiful views over Douro/Pinhao valley. Really classy furnishings. Our host was really kind and gave us many useful information on the area. We got a free wine at the beginning. Overall perfect.

If you want to see the Douro Valley - this is the place. The view from the balcony is amazing, also from the pool. The way to Pinhao village is the best of the area. I liked the village Celerios - so cute and quiet but with two cafes. There was also a great restaurant nearby (Quinta doPortal) with excellent food and wine. The beds were comfortable and we found the air-conditioning very helpful and the possibility to cool down in the great pool with this extremely hot weather we had. There was also some touristic and practical informtion on the area, some even in Polish! The palce is incredibly quiet and relaxing. There are some nice walking trails around to discover.

We loved this accommodation. Elizabeth was so helpful, the Pastie de Natas that she left us when we arrived was a lovely touch, also the small bottle of Port from her father and the rice cakes just before we left. These little touches always make you feel special. The pool was lovely to use at the end of a long drive and the scenery from all aspects of the accommodation were incredible, felt very at home there. Would love to return in the future.

Provesende was probably not the most sensible choice for an over night stop in October especially as we left Porto 3 hours later than planned. By the time we had wound our way along the Douro Valley and up the mountain to the village it was unforgivably late. Cold and tired, it was misty, dark and the village deserted when we arrived at around 11.00 o'clock. Casa da Jesus is, thankfully, easy to find and fitted with a bell to toll, which we did, rousing all the dogs for a kilometer. It also caught the attention of the next door nighbour, a resolute young lady member of thr Fire Brigade. She rousted the house owner who arrived with his wife to inform us 1.) that the house was not ready and 2.) he had told B**king.com of this fact and 3.) he had refused the booking. However, Portuguese hospitality won the day and the Fire-person, the owner's wife and all set to and cleaned a bathroom and made a bed for us at the same time as sitting us down with a fresh loaf, cheese and fruit for supper. History will be unable to realise just how grateful we were for this amazing show of good will. Casa da Jesus is perched on top of a serious hill, overlooking miles of the Douro Valley, the vineyards and distant blue mountains. The silence at night has to be experienced to be believed. The house was not set up for two foolish old Englishmen turning up late, but is perfectly suited for a family or group for a longer stay. Clean, well equipped and in a great location it is a lovely place to stay. Thank-you all at Provesende for your open hearted welcome.

The main living/dining area is the heart of the house, with plenty of comfy seating and a lovely view. The hostess was wonderful, taking good care of us with a cooked breakfast, tasty coffee and laundry service.

Absolutely gorgeous setting, at the top of a hill outside Pinhao with terraced vineyards and amazing sunsets. The apartment was really roomy and comfortable and they left us a lot of food. The views were amazing and the drive up and down the mountain were fun.
