We wanted a week off the beaten track, and Kodria in the village of Alexandros fitted the bill completely. From the terrace we could watch the animals, sheep goats and cows going out in the mornings, and being called or herded home again in the evenings, or local people crop picking, all with a backdrop of the mountains. A traditional way of life, I wonder how long it will last for. We were able to get away from it all , or drive anywhere on the island from this base in the mountains of rural Lefkada. Village tavernas are around in the nearest villages. Lefkada Town and the coast are easily accessible in terms of time and mileage, but some of the roads and hairpins are interesting to say the least. The Compensation is the most magnificent views on many occasions.

We stayed here in Karya for a month in April. It is an absolutely cozy, beautiful and clean home with everything you need for a comfortable stay! The pool and backyard oasis was amazing and it was a very relaxing stay. We really appreciated that the housekeeper came to clean and replace linens once a week and she was so kind! The bed was very comfortable which apparently is a luxury in Europe. Though the home does not have a view, the views walking down the street and around the village were stunning. It is about 25-40 minute drive from almost anywhere on the island so that was a plus, and you get the MOST amazing views while driving anywhere from here. Though it was off season, there was a lovely grocery store and a couple of cafes within walking distance to the village. The kitchen was fully stocked for us to cook several hearty meals on chilly nights in. We would recommend for anyone wanting to get off the beaten path and enjoy quiet nights in a small Greek village.
