If you are looking for a quiet get-away spot in Touraine, then it is hard to imagine finding anywhere more charming than ‘La Pierre qui Parle‘. An old 2-story house set against the limestone cliffs, the house is cool and well-lit. Inside, it is very spacious with necessary facilities. An old building, it has a lot of character, both in the structure and its decoration. The location is ideal: a small alley which has no through traffic. Luynes is a charming town, with bakery, cheesemonger and butcher-charcuterie, all excellent. A supermarket is about a 5-minute drive away. Luynes is well situated to explore the west of Touraine: about 20 minutes from the Chateaux of Azay-Le-Rideau, Villandry and Langeais, with Chinon and Fontevraud within an easy day-visit distance. Tours, with its superb stained glass in the cathedral, is nearby, and offers a good choice of eating out. If we returned to this area, we would be very happy to come back to ‘La Pierre qui Parle‘!
