We had everything we needed in the kitchen for simple cooking, and the place is equipped with a washer/dryer combo machine which is a must when you have young kids. The bathroom was a comfortably good size for a family of 4. The garden and outdoor seating area with a pond of pretty fish was a pleasure for our kids. Our lovely and very helpful host, Jonathan, was so kind to let our son feed the fish too! The location was great, offering tranquility for the evenings and perfect for sightseeing as it is close to Ekerö and Bromma for trips to Stockholm via public ferry/train/bus. It is also very close to good hiking spots! We have good friends in Sweden so we will definitely keep this address for our next trip to see them!

The house is also located right on the canal. It is not in the middle of nowhere so there are a few restaurants and stores close in the vicinity. The newly baked, warm, individual apple crisp at breakfast was a nice touch.

The guest house is located in the center of the historic fishing village of Grisslehamn, also the departure terminal of the ferry to the Åland Islands. The landmark building was purchased and carefully restored to period by the owner during the Covid-19 pandemic. It's clearly a labor of love, as the establishment invites the guests to information about the history of the village and offers particulars on a large array of activities from hiking, to kayaking or biking in the region. There is a distinct continental feel to the guest house, as the owner also has a connection to Tuscany, so food items from Italy and outstanding gelato are of the highest quality. The Pensionat website is far and above what you would normally see, as the owner is also a graphic designer.
