It was nice and peaceful in a very friendly nabourship. The landlord was a really nice person. We had some comments about one of the bicycles he lended us for free, and it was immediately fixed.

It was a beautiful old house that has been used for services on the canal. It is right on the Roslagsleden (trail) so we could hike before dinner and right after breakfast. The house is also located right on the canal. It is not in the middle of nowhere so there are a few restaurants and stores close in the vicinity. The newly baked, warm, individual apple crisp at breakfast was a nice touch.

The guest house is located in the center of the historic fishing village of Grisslehamn, also the departure terminal of the ferry to the Åland Islands. The landmark building was purchased and carefully restored to period by the owner during the Covid-19 pandemic. It's clearly a labor of love, as the establishment invites the guests to information about the history of the village and offers particulars on a large array of activities from hiking, to kayaking or biking in the region. There is a distinct continental feel to the guest house, as the owner also has a connection to Tuscany, so food items from Italy and outstanding gelato are of the highest quality. The Pensionat website is far and above what you would normally see, as the owner is also a graphic designer.
