The lodging is in the ground floor of a carefully modernized and upgraded house in the center of Gouveia. The host was completely fluent in English and Portuguese, and answered lots of questions about the town and surrounding area. The room was large and quiet, with a large spotless bath. Breakfast was a nice selection of fresh foods.

Quinta do Quinto features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, bar, a shared lounge and garden in Porto da Carne. There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. Loved this place! The view was amazing, the bed's comfortable, the bathroom very luxurious and the staff (Patricia) was so helpful and super friendly! Extremely clean and had everything we needed (including a washing machine!). There are soooo many amenities: swimming pool, billiard, table tennis, volleyball court, super awesome bar (you can even create your own cocktails) etc. Very good breakfast! In this place everything makes you feel like a royalty. This is the best place we've stayed at so far!

Featuring mountain views, Casa do Telheiro provides accommodation with patio, around 20 km from Parque Natural Serra da Estrela. Extremely nice staff, very nice rooms and common kitchen and the location in the village is perfect. We could even park our car in the garage. There is really nothing bad to say about this place and it's also very affordable.

Offering barbecue facilities and garden view, Casa da Ribeirinha is situated in Sabugueiro, 44 km from Mangualde Live Artificial Beach and 20 km from Manteigas Hot Springs. The house is very well located, clean and well maintained. The staff is great at accomodating our needs.

Located in the centre of Manteigas, Casa D’Avenida is a newly renovated family house, sited within the Serra da Estrela Natural Park. The room had a comfy bed and a nice little balcony with mountain view (due to very bad weather we couldn't use it, unfortunately). Downstairs there is a nice seating area with an oven which we used to get dry and warm up after some very rainy hikes. The guest house is located right at the little stream flowing through Manteigas, so restaurants and shops are right around the corner. (We recommend Infusao, just a couple of steps up the stream from the guest house.) The breakfast was amazing and very extensive, even when only us two were left at the hotel. Best thing: we could pack bread etc for lunch, tea and coffee were always available downstairs, as was the amazing home-made cake. We were looking forward to this after every hike.

Located at the foot of the Serra da Estrela mountain range, in the town of Manteigas, this hotel offers elegant rooms with free Wi-Fi. Free parking is possible on site. The place is very nice, well design, convenient and very clean and comfortable. It has air conditioning in the room in case of extreme heat (which we experience), and nice common spaces (several living rooms, terrace) to read, relax, play... It is located close to the center of Manteigas and yet in a very quite neighbourhood. The owner is very nice and very dedicated to the comfort of her guests. Highly recommended.
