Located in Trujillo, 6 km from Chan Chan Mud City, Hostal Donde Alberto offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The host really made us feel at home and was accommodating in every way imaginable! Water and a snack in the room when we arrived, clear directions on safety and a mosquito net (after hearing dengue horror stories we were glad with this one!). We could leave our luggage during the day as our night bus left late, and he even waited outside with us as we were safe in our Uber and gave us a bottle of water for on the way.

I absolutely in love with Chicama Surf House! I've never expected to receive this high service almost in the middle of desert. First of all, Katia, the host, deserves all the applauses for her hard work. You can feel her soul in every single detail in every room. She decorates rooms with the hand made things so you always feel cosy. I was really surprised with cleanliness in my room. The condition of all the surfboards and wetsuits is AMAZING! WOW! No dings, traces of repair of something like that. Breakfast was included to my room and it was a very generous portion. Fruits, fresh juice, quinoa, sweet potatoes, fried eggs, buns with butter and jam, coffee. MUCH MORE than enough before the surf session. Always very tasty and nutritional. I pampered myself with the massage services right at the Surf House. Liliana, an amazing specialist, can come to the Surf House or invite you to her massage saloon. Trust me, an hour of the massage is a MUST HAVE after the surf session.

We had the most AMAZING time at Totora Surf School and it was very hard to leave after three weeks! The rooms and property were always clean and organised and the view of the ocean is spectacular. Great value for money. But what made our stay so wonderful were the people! Laura and Diego are wonderful people and the care they put into their business is obvious. They went out of their way to make my stay comfortable and were especially kind and attentive to my dog Colt who would be very happy if we stayed forever! :) Their surf school team are all great people and Colt and I were happy to leave having made a bunch of new friends!

Because I had to arrive incredibly early and also leave early in the night, the lady on duty was so kind and offered breakfast that morning when I arrived. She was so kind and helpful in every way from the minute I arrived until I departed. It was a very handy place to stay close to where the Cruz del Sur coaches were leaving from, with links there to Lima, Tumbes, Guayaquil, Chimbote, Chiclayo, etc.

Hotel Las Mercedes offers accommodation in Trujillo. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Each room has a flat-screen TV with cable channels. The rooms have a private bathroom fitted with a shower. I really love the location, everything was close.

Martín is very nice and helpful. He took me to see the murals (a hidden gem in Trujillo) because I was short on time and helped me organize a tour for the day. He was very flexible and welcoming. The place is well situated in the center. Bed was comfortable.

Set close to the beach in Puerto Chicama, La Ola Azul has a terrace and free WiFi. The property is allergy-free and is located two blocks from Playa Puerto Chicama. Location was perfect, close to restaurants and the main entrance down to the beach. Room was cleaned daily, had everything we needed and was very affordable. The women running the hotel were so nice and let us check in early in the day. Highly recommend and would definitely come back!
