Fruits, fresh juice, quinoa, sweet potatoes, fried eggs, buns with butter and jam, coffee. MUCH MORE than enough before the surf session. Always very tasty and nutritional. I pampered myself with the massage services right at the Surf House. Liliana, an amazing specialist, can come to the Surf House or invite you to her massage saloon. Trust me, an hour of the massage is a MUST HAVE after the surf session.

A recently renovated property, Totora Surf Hostel is situated in Huanchaco near Huancarute, El Mogote. Clean, functional and most importantly hospitable.

Set within 400 metres of Mansiche Stadium and 500 metres of Gran Chimú Coliseum in Trujillo, AYPA Hostal features accommodation with seating area. Because I had to arrive incredibly early and also leave early in the night, the lady on duty was so kind and offered breakfast that morning when I arrived. She was so kind and helpful in every way from the minute I arrived until I departed. It was a very handy place to stay close to where the Cruz del Sur coaches were leaving from, with links there to Lima, Tumbes, Guayaquil, Chimbote, Chiclayo, etc.

Despite its location on the main business street, it is surprisingly quiet at night. The building itself is also a beautiful historic building from the republican era. The hotel owner is so nice, giving me all local insider’s tips about the city. He also helped me booking a tour around the archeological sites nearby for no commission fees.

Set close to the beach in Puerto Chicama, La Ola Azul has a terrace and free WiFi. The property is allergy-free and is located two blocks from Playa Puerto Chicama. Location was perfect, close to restaurants and the main entrance down to the beach. Room was cleaned daily, had everything we needed and was very affordable. The women running the hotel were so nice and let us check in early in the day. Highly recommend and would definitely come back!
