The host was so helpful and great! The home cooked food was one of the best and served so beautifully. We loved our room, the garden for yoga, the rooftop for relaxing, the location close to the baby elephant orphans station, and also the massages from Shani!!! I even went in two days for a total of 3,5h of massages. Honestly I can just warmly recommend you to stay there, you will have all you need and even more for an amazing Udawalawe experience and you can book Safari and straight with the owner, they can organise everything for you. This is a hidden gem in the area. We travelled from Canada and decided to go by what other travellers had said and glad we stayed here. The staff found out it was our anniversary and went out of their way to decorate our room - a lovely touch. The place is clean, the room was pristine, the breakfast is good and the staff are excellent. The hotel has its own safari jeep and we organized everything with them, it was probably the best thing we did. We’d go back.

Max was a lovely host and the room was perfect! Udawalawe is an area full with questionable accommodations at very cheap prices. After reading many reviews I chose Max’s place and I’m very happy about it. The room was very clean and we had great conversations with Max. We did not use his safari package and he was nice and understanding about it. I would likely opt to use him next time though, because he said he also had binoculars available and was happy to find ways to make the safari experience more affordable for you and sustainable by pairing you with other guests if you’d like. I also had to pay a visit to the doctor and Max was very helpful in that bringing me to one. Thanks so much for the great stay Max!

We had a great stay at Buddika Safari & Resort. We enjoyed the spacious and clean room (incl AC) and bathroom (incl plenty hot water). The host is super friendly and the food delicious. The location is very close to the national park which is a plus for the safari tour which was organized by the host as well. We arrived at the property at 1 PM and enjoyed lunch 30 minutes later. We discussed the safari tour options with the host during lunch and decided to go that afternoon due to the weather expectations. At 2:30 PM we were in a jeep on our way to the park with a knowledgeable driver! The next day the host brought us to the Elephant Transit Home. Overall a great experience from beginning to the end of our two (2) day stay.
