This stay has been one of my highlights during my travel through Sri Lanka. I didn't expect much - just some days in Dambulla for visiting the caves and doing some hikes. And whatever you expect you will definitely make new friends with this amazing family. Deepal and Madhu make you feel home and more than welcome at their quite, peaceful homestay. They care about their guests and their well-being as soon as you send over your booking. The accommodation itself is very new, comfortable and individually decorated. I didn't miss anything during my (way too short!) stay of 3 nights. And yes - everyone is so right about the food that is freshly prepared by Madhu and her lovely mother. This was not just enough feeding myself and at least 3 more people - it also has been so delicious *and I'm a picky one*, spicy, original, made with love, varied, they even took care of my allergies! Simply great. We went for walks, drives and hikes, had great supper together, even the most inspiring and deep conversations, we tried our best to get some petrol (such unique adventure - unfortunately not for the people in Sri Lanka atm), their kids are adorable and great fun. Their parents are lovely as well, great teachers and full of passion! And then there is Windy - their dog ♡ I found friends and I will come back as well.

The room is big and well equipped. The owner and his son are lovely and take such good care of you. It was a wonderful experience. I would 100% stay here again.
