J-Hoppers Kumano Yunomine Guesthouse is situated in Hongu, a 10-minute drive away or a 70-minute walk on the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Route from Kumano Hongu Taisha Grand Shrine. amazing value. Onsens were great! Dinner was way better then expected. The porridge and free coffee in the morning was a nice bonus as well. I would stay here again in a second.

Set in Tanabe and only 200 metres from Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art, 民宿 和合 Minshuku WAGO offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. The host was very nice and helpful, and the place is just on the kumano kodo path. It was a great experience.

AJITO Hostel & CafeBar, a property with a bar, is located in Shingu, 700 metres from Kumano Hayatama Taisha, less than 1 km from Kamikura Shrine, as well as 14 km from Fudarakusanji Temple. what a great little place. If you have a small group, the 4 ppl room on the 3rd floor is perfect. The place has lots of great info in multiple languages and the affiliated izakaya was the perfect place to go for dinner.

If you want to experience real Japanese hospitality, this is the place to go. The owners went out of their way helping us to get our daughter's phone back, which she had left on the train (driving to the station in the middle of the night and organizing the key to the train!). The hotel is very cozy and the coffee (home-roasted) is great. Thank you very much!

It was very close to train/bus station, restaurants and free bikes provided to ride around town. Authentic Japanese house - great space and experience.

Featuring 2-star accommodation, Guest House Suzumeno Kakurembo is set in Koyasan, 37 km from Tama Museum and 37 km from Kishi Station. Very comfortable and quiet. We are two couples travelling together and shared the family room. Was very clean and our host was very friendly and helpful. The dinner at night was exceptional. Loved the food so much. Thankyou for a memorable stay. 🙏

Offering quiet street views, Guest House hachi hachi is an accommodation situated in Koyasan, 37 km from Tama Museum and 37 km from Kishi Station. Everything! So clean and cosy. Very pleasant common area with great selection of books on Koyasan, main cities, Japanese culture and food. Great host who is so welcoming, accommodating and easy to talk to. Thank you!

Set within 10 km of Kamitonda Concert Hall and 11 km of Kozan-ji Temple, Kumano Winery Guest House provides rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Tanabe. Giovanni and Yutaka, the hosts and owners were very thoughtful and accommodating. We rode on his truck going to their farm where their goats are and it was super fun! The meals prepared by Giovanni, featuring his award-winning goat cheese, are very artfully prepared and served, not to mention very delicious!

Set in Tanabe, 23 km from Shirahama Hot Spring, Kumano Kodo Nagano Guesthouse features a garden and air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. The accommodation offers a concierge service for guests. This was such a great stay! Simon and Yumiko, the owners of this small Guesthouse are such lovely and inviting people. Simon met us at Kii-Tanabe station at our pre-discussed time, and drove the 25 min to the remote guesthouse. The atmosphere around the property is serene and so quiet, such a good change in pace compared to Osaka! Simon helped us with our Kumano Kodo walking plan, and then the next morning dropped us off at the start of the hike, another 30 min drive away. There’s a small shrine that you can walk to close to the property. There are two guest rooms on property, we were the only ones there, so it wasn’t loud. We had a microwave, fridge, electric kettle and heater/air conditioner unit in our room. They also provide coffee and green tea and cups! Highly recommend!
