Situated in remote island of Shiraishi, Shiraishi Island International Villa offers accommodation surrounded by nature. We really enjoyed our stay at International Villa on this small, but beautiful island. The view is absolutely worth it’s price and the room was clean and modern furnished. The house offers everything you need, there is a shared space outside as well as an living room and a spacious kitchen. If you plan to cook, you won’t miss anything. Also the check-in went easy an the manager was very friendly and kind.

Guest House Toranjyo-lit is set in Tamano, 60-minutes from Takamatsu via ferry and 60-minutes from Okayama via train or bus. Guests can enjoy the on-site cafe. This was one of our favourite accommodations on our trip! We stayed here as a buffer day between traveling between Ishikawa and Naoshima but we wish we could have spent longer - lots of privacy, in a great area, and the staff were so helpful and friendly, they really went over and beyond helping us to plan our following days in Naoshima. The guesthouse was cosy and had everything you could think to need!

We actually changed and stayed in a two bedroom property also owned by Temari Inn called Madaromi, also located in Kurashiki Biken Historical district. Junko, the owner, was absolutely wonderful, welcoming us and showing us the apartment and telling us about Kurashiki. The apartment is gorgeous, clean, and very well appointed. It is newly renovated and so comfortable. The location is wonderful, in the historic quarter with easy access to fantastic restaurants, galleries, shrines, the river, and cute shops. It has a kitchen, and we were able to make breakfast. Junko recommended a fabulous yakitori restaurant nearby for dinner. The historic town of Kurashiki is definitely worth a visit, with beautifully preserved architecture of the Edo period surrounding a picturesque river. Our stay here was a highlight of our holiday. Situated within 200 metres of Tanukian Bunko Art Museum and 600 metres of Houkancho Shopping Street, ゲストハウス MEETS 岡山 offers rooms in Okayama. We didn't have breakfast here but the location was super pretty and quite walkable. They allowed us to use the kitchen appliances which was a water heater, fridge, microwave, and even a rice cooker.

This little hotel which I mainly booked to break up our driving journey between destinations turned out to be a little gem. It was quaint clean and had a beautiful traditional Japanese garden outlook from our room and the best dinner we had in Japan. The food was top notch and so delicious it melted in your mouth. Definitely book the meal option 😊
