We had a great stop over at Chateau de Contay while visiting the SJMC at Villers-bretonneux. Leonie was a fantastic hostess, very courteous and considerate and gave us some great local tips. At this point we’d been traveling through Europe for 6 weeks and we had our best nights sleep and shower in all that time at the chateau.

But first, Laon is probably the prettiest city you've never heard of. It's a little difficult to get to as it sits high on a plateau, but it's worth getting there. Many great places to dine at and attractions to see. Just go! The B&B is run by a young couple with a daughter, and it is just fantastic. Huge rooms, very comfortable, and the breakfast is delicious. Our host was extremely helpful. We stayed two nights and could easily stayed two more except for our schedule.

Sarah gave tips for places to visit nearby like restaurants and cultural activities. They prepared us a full French breakfast every morning and it was always super delicious! Comfy beds and warm shower. I honestly have zero minpoints about our stay at La Chasse Royale. Everything went smooth, check-in, check-out, bed-/bathroom, location, kitchen and neighbourhood.
