I do not have the words to express how good my time here was. Not only is the hostel in a beautiful location with many amenities for an affordable price but the family that runs the hostel quickly became a family I could call my own. José, Matilde, Inti, and Joselito are all such kind and personable people - I was here during Inti Raymi and José invited me to join for a ritual bathing ceremony practiced by many of the indigenous people, and explained the significance of it all. Beyond the hospitality, the rooms are incredibly spacious and comfortable and if you want it, single rooms are very affordable. On top of this, Inti offers a taxi service (well known as the ‘Inti Taxi’ haha) and can bring you wherever you need! During one of my days here I took the ‘Inti Taxi’ to El Lechero and the Condor Park and Inti was able to share tons of information about these places. This is the perfect place to stay if you are looking to visit and immerse yourself in the Otavaleño culture. I also learned some Kichwa from the family as well.

Located outside of busy Ibarra in an avocado/coffee plantation, this hotel offers a relaxing stay. Only having the chance to have a conversation with the owner (Carlos) is worth the nightly price.

Loved our host, very sweet people and didn't mind me using Google translate to communicate better. He even took us to a few places most visitors probably don't think about. They prepared us dinner one night which was great! The house is super cute and clean, love the view to the lake. The town is safe to walk I'm at night. Make sure to go to Bambu Grill. Great place to eat.

Located 3 km from Cotacachi commercial centre, Hacienda San Isidro De Iltaqui offers free WiFi and breakfast. The accommodation is set in an organic farm in a colonial hacienda. It's difficult to pick just one thing that we liked because the Hacienda San Isidro de Iltaqui was extraordinary in so many ways! We loved the hacienda's ambiance, the farm fresh food was delicious, and the hosts offered attentive, personal, old world hospitality that will bring us back. Cannot recommend highly enough.

This colourful hostel offers rooms with free Wi-Fi and shared bathrooms in Esperanza town, only 100 metres from Santa Maria de la Esperanza church. Horse riding and trekking trips can be booked. Plenty of space, great view, a lot of nature around.

Set in a charming colonial-style house built 300 years ago, Hosteria Hacienda Pinsaqui features 2 restaurants, and breakfast is provided. Otavalo city centre is 5 km away. The hacienda is the perfect blend of great hospitality, history and beauty. The staff could not have been better. They were efficient and friendly. It is a very peaceful place to stay.

This 150 year-old farmhouse is tucked in a lush mountain valley less than 2 hours from Quito. It features a garden, volleyball and football courts, and free private parking. Great place. Loved the room, the grounds, the fireplace! Food and service were both excellent.
