What an amazing place and warm, wonderful hosts Paolo and Carla make you feel like old friends. Beware, booking.com's directions take you to the wrong house. Follow Google maps to Quinta da Menina Guest house instead and you won't get lost. The place seems brand new but charming. It's spotless and gorgeous. The pool is crystal clear and breakfast is fantastic. Don't make the mistake we made and only book one night. You are going to want to stay at this beautiful oasis and explore the wine area for, at least, a few days. I would have stayed forever if I could.

The house is like a small castle, but very tidy and comfortable. The owner is so nice. There are many well thought out details, which make the stay even more pleasant.

Wow. Absolutely wow. We can't even imagine the great experience we had at this place. We arrive after several days at the Douro valley, and by far - this place was the best we chose and stayed in. From the great hospitality of the host, to the facilities (Jacuzzi, Balcony, Breakfast and what not). Do yourself a favour and go there, believe us.

This is a very comfortable big room in the town centre of Vila Real, near restaurants, the river, and stores. Perfect if you want a quiet space as well. The room is big, and the mattress is very good. Because the rooms are on the top floor it's very quiet during the evening, you don't hear any noise from the streets.

Away from the town so beautiful and quiet long tree lined drive well lit for return in the dark. Accommodation was in a word luxury! The owners are very friendly and speak good English which is helpful nothing too much trouble. Brilliant thanks so much

We loved our stay! It is a property with a long history, carefully renovated by the owners and it retained an old world vibe.. It feels like time has stopped and you are transported to a fairly tale here! I loved the attention to detail at every corner. The breakfast was the best we had in Portugal. The breakfast/dining area feels like you're in someone's home. We stayed in the main house and there were very few other guests while we were there. So we stayed a lot in the common area, on the couch with a fireplace. You can keep up the fire yourself and it keeps the room very warm. We were here in October. The weather was cold and rainy. It made our stay even more cozy. The bed was HUGE and super comfortable. We had a car. It would be difficult to stay here without one. It is a pleasant 30-40min drive to see the vineyards in Piñhao. We also liked the city centre of Vila Real, 5min driving from the property. All in all, our favourite stay in Portugal (and we stayed in 5 different hotels/AirBnBs).

Manuel and his family were amazing: friendly, hospitable; and helpful!! Felt like we were visiting long lost family. The property was extremely nice, rooms were great (clean, comfortable, well appointed), and the scenery was awesome. Little cool outside to enjoy the pool...but we would have!!

We loved everything about this hotel. Dont judge a book by its cover...the outside and area do not do it justice. Inside, the hotel has paid attention to detail, everything you need in the rooms for a comfortable stay. Immaculately clean The staff are lovely, very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was exceptionally good with, local.produce and seasonal fresh fruits. It is within walking distance of Vila Real.
