Breakfast was exceptional with a nice variety of homemade jams and breads, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and eggs. Hosts we’re very welcoming and provided information on Monsaraz, where to eat. We especially enjoyed watching the sunset on the rooftop terrace with a glass of wine. Saturday market was fun.

Great location. Interesting, quirky property. Roof terrace would be lovely at a warmer time of year. Breakfast including fresh fruit was really good value considering it was just a €2.50 add on. Friendly owner. We stayed in an economy room which just has a skylight window but we knew that in advance. Would like to have had a look a look at the other rooms all representing ex Portuguese colonies.

A beautifully presented and maintained small traditional house in a quiet village near Monsaraz. The house is renovated to modern standards and with its extremely thick walls and double glazed windows is comfortable and quiet. The host is very charming and helpful. Parking is directly outside the front door which means you block the whole narrow street - not many places you can do that and it be ok!
