Casa Tequio was the best stay during our travel through Mexiko so far! Esperanza and all the people working at the place are incredibly sweet, helpful, you feel like you arrive to a family. Honestly we booked Casa Tequio because of the breakfast reviews - and its true! Its so worth it! Every day we got coffee/tea, fruit or juice, mexican dish or eggs, selfmade marmelades,... So we can prove that all the reviews are right about the breakfast. We extended our stay because we liked it so much - the place, not only the breakfast ;) . The yard inside the hotel is inviting for sitting down (and having breakfast). The rooms are clean and you can ask for a heater or a big blanket. Also the common areas like the kitchen are superclean and I cooked 4 days in a row because it was everything there to cook well. Very well equipped. There are plenty of toilets, should you catch Montezumas Revenge in San Cristobal (fortunately we didn´t need them so much, but it was a good feeling just in case :D - brush your teeth with bottled water). After a day in the busy streets and markets of San Cristobal, the casa is so great to come back to, because suddenly its all quiet. Oh, and there is a fireplace in the common room upstairs. Turn off the light, drink your chocolate and enjoy. This is also a nice place to mingle with fellow travellers. During the nights it was always quiet and everyone was respectful. You will enjoy your stay!

The location is amazing. It's a pretty quick walk to the walking street, Guadalupe. The wifi was also excellent. I do a lot of Zoom calls, and I need a certain speed of internet to make that work. The wifi was truly excellent.
