A beautiful oasis in the desert in a quiet village outside of the busy city. The gardens are immaculate and the onsite donkey was charming. The owner goes over and above to help guests with trip planning and ensure a comfortable stay. The food was incredible. We had dinner in one night and chose to go out the second night and regretted our choice! This is an excellent location if you are visiting Ait Ben Haddou and we appreciated the "adults only" zen! The owners effortlessly provide a high service standard of European hospitality as well as a dedication to eco- sustainability and social responsibility. This is one of the only places we found in Morocco that was actively trying to recycle and find creative ways to reduce and manage their waste. I also appreciated their focus on working to promote the local community and offer hospitality internships to the young people in the area. Thank-you for an amazing stay and all of your wonderful trip recommendations!

Host Ahmed was SUPERB. Very helpful and kind, always making sure we are comfortable. Upon arrival I fell in love with this place, it exudes tranquility and I could finally experience having slow days away from city buzz, nearest house was at least a mile away so it’s good if you’re looking for a getaway. Breakfast was great, probably the best we’ve had in places we stayed in morocco. Though it does get repetitive, but Ahmed always ensures we eat breakfast where we would like to. He was happy when I offered to help with preparing dinner, despite the language barrier, he showed me the ingredients and steps- a very sincere and earnest host indeed. His wife and daughters are very lovely as well. When we ran low on cash and opted for one portion less of food for dinner, he said it’s okay and provided us with 2 portions saying “we are friends”. He also helped us out when we got stuck with transport as the nearest bus stop or taxis are 3km away. He is the best and kindest host I’ve met during our trip here in morocco.

The terrace view is great by day and by night (so many stars), the food was nice, the team is very kind and hospitable. There's also a Spa that other guests have enjoyed with a hammam BTW. They handled our requests with a smile and allowed us to have a short but memorable stay. Thank you again beautiful family.

What a fabulous, special place! Definitely one of our all time favourite places that we’ve stayed at. The most wonderful, friendly, warm staff! Our room looking over the valley was incredible. Being able to walk to Ait Ben Haddou was super cool!

- Our hosts Mohammed and Aisha were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. - Mohammed had excellent tipps and suggestions for everything between Merzouga and Chefchaouen and even drew us a handy little map! - The Food: Aisha is a fantastic cook and we had a superb Tagine dinner at a reasonable price. - The Riad: After a long day in the bright and hot sun, the Riad was refreshingly shady and cool and very comfortable. The lovely interior makes the whole Riad very cosy and relaxing. - The Views: The riad is situated on a hill overlooking the village. It affords panoramic views of the surrounding hills and mountains from just about any window in the building. Amazing.

We met a tour guide who has been giving tours around Morocco for 20 years and she said this in her top 3 places to stay in all of Morocco. We had the most relaxing time, eating fantastic food and enjoying the beautiful landscape. What makes this Auberge special is Idriss. His relaxed and joyous demeanour is infectious! I would absolutely recommend having dinner at the auberge to experience their cooking and to walk over to Ait Benhaddou via the palms. Keep an eye out for what we dubbed squirrel mountain to see some adorable squirrels scuttling around. We even witnessed our first moon rise over the adjacent hills which was as magical as it sounds. If you are travelling to this region then definitely stay here, you won't regret it.

100% the best stay here in Morocco. The staff and the owner were very friendly and welcoming. Furthermore, the rooms were clean, the food excellent, and the pool was also a great addition. The position of the hotel is great, as the quaint UNESCO fortress is quickly reachable by foot. Finally, the whole village feels really safe and relaxed. I would definitely suggest staying here.
