Situated in the village of Fen Drayton, the Thorn House B&B offers a self contained one bedroom lodge and a self contained one bedroom guesthouse with free Wi-Fi and free private parking. It is just 15 minutes’ drive from central Cambridge and 5 minutes from St Ives.

I almost didn't want to do a review on the Thorn B&B because it was so perfect I wanted to keep it a secret 🤫 Gorgeous, quiet location. Great to have a whole little house all to ourselves. Lovely cooked breakfast hand delivered each morning. The lovely host, Alex, likes to deliver breakfast by 8am so if you want a lie in take some cereal or bread for toast and make your own in the little kitchen where a microwave, small fridge with chiller slot (not freezer), coffee machine, toaster and kettle are provided. There's also tea, coffee pods, condiments, jam and a big barrel of biscuits provided. Small living room with smart TV, cupboard that doubled up as a wardrobe and ironing board and iron home and dining table. Walk in shower was efficient and toiletries are provided. The bed was comfy and the bedroom was equipped with fans, electric blanket, hairdryer and straighteners! There wasn't a garden view in our lodge but there was a private drive that allowed us to take the car right up to the front door of the property which made unpacking a breeze. Away from the property there is a local pub 'The Three Tuns' which does a very nice meal. Not the cheapest place for food but if it is only a night or two then it's great. There is no shop of any kind in the village so stock up before you get there. Alex gave us a fabulous welcome with a little treat (I won't spoil the surprise) and nothing seemed too much trouble for him. If you want a relaxed, private experience then this is definitely the place for you.

hosts were very helpful and accommodating. Beds were comfy, lovely quiet location. I would have liked information that the breakfasts were taken in our room on the info page on your site. We only found out by talking to the hosts after booking.

First class accommodation in a peaceful location. In view of the current situation with Covid, social contact was kept to a minimum, but this didn't prevent Maria from being the perfect host albeit by text message. The room was warm, spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. An generous continental breakfast was brought to our room at spot on our chosen time, comprising hot toast, fresh fruit and yogurt, assorted cereals, orange juice and ample fresh milk. I would thoroughly recommend The Lodge

The location of the lodge was ideal for us, we were in the area visiting family in Hemmingford Grey, lovely quiet village near the busier and lively St Ives. The room was spacious and clean, staff very accommodating and helpful. There a nearby pub serving meals in and outdoors (The Cock) and also the Axe and Compass in Hemmingford Abbots serves excellent food. The breakfast was continental delivered to the room, it was very tasty and contained lots of fresh fruit, cereals, toast, jams etc.
