OMG the Ship Inn is wonderful- we can’t wait to go back. Joanne the owner is the most accommodating and friendly person, she really has this place running on full speed, our waitress Hannah, not only a talented musician but a friendly and attentive waitress. The food is wonderful, traditional yet touch of gourmet - really good. Our room was clean, light and airy, all one needs after a day of hiking !! The Ship Inn is lovely set in the centre of a beautiful English village,

Very clean room, and Kim was great and provided us with extra towels along with information about the busses and provided a number for a taxi company that could be trusted. We were walking Hadrian's Wall and it was quite dark when we arrived. They were wonderful and friendly, and dropped us off at the pub. The next day we unfortunately left something behind and our host drove and met us so we could be reunited with our lost belongings. The accommodation is lovely, nice setting, large and well equipped. Food is provided so you can prepare breakfast for yourself in the morning, which suited us. Overall very nice place which we hope to re-visit in the future.

very comfortable, nicely furnished in a unique style.Private and relaxing. Lesley was a lovely host, nothing was too much trouble, even went out and got us a bottle of wine. The evening meal was delicious, would definitely recommend and breakfast was pleasantly different from the usual traditional option.
