Beautiful quiet pub. Staff fantastic. Plenty of free parking. Meals, both breakfast and dinner, were delicious. Room was a good size with large shower and plenty of hot water. Would definitely come back and I recommend this pub.

The reception was warm and welcoming, the two hosts very friendly, funny and helpful. We also liked the rooms for their tasteful and cosy interieur. The hosts made it even possible to have breakfast in bed!

Kat welcomed me upon arrival with bonafide friendliness and showed me around the Lodge which has so much character and is so very cosy! The communal kitchen is perfectly outfitted with all you'd need to prepare almost any meal and is so very clean and easy to clean after use. Kat and I talked for a half and hour or so outside the Lodge shortly after I had settled in and it was easy to see that she genuinely engages in conversation with guests with interest. I saw Chris as I headed out on on a walk to get some groceries and although he was talking with someone else he called out a greeting to me and gave a big wave. There's a great welcome guide in the rooms with a history of the property, synopsis of the conservation efforts ongoing on the farm, information on local shops, etc. You will not be bothered by the hosts but if you have a question or just want to say hello, rest assured you can knock on their door and know you will be more than well received!

Raffles is a fabulous traditional guest house in a very convenient location within walking distance of Exeter city centre. We were given a friendly welcome and were allowed to drop off our bags although we arrived early. The house is decorated and furnished in keeping with its origins and has some beautiful antique pieces of furniture. We stayed in Room 5 on the top floor and slept soundly in an exceptionally comfortable bed. The ensuite shower room is modern and spotlessly clean with a generous selection of very fluffy thick white towels.There is a good choice for breakfast and we had the Full English which was perfectly cooked to order. Raffles is a perfect choice for a stay in Exeter and is good value for money

Location perfect right next to their pub. So could walk next door for meals have a few drinks. Meals excellent. Easy to get to. Skylight in ceiling was awesome to watch satellites go over while in bed!! Extremely clean & if need more tea/coffee etc not a problem. Nice big tv. Free carpark next to unit. Would differently stay again.

I LOVE this pub/hotel. I have to travel to various cities for work and I am so glad I found this spot! Very safe and welcoming and the beds are SPOTLESS! I’ve travelled to Exeter twice for work and stayed here both times. Slightly outside the centre about 10 mins by car but worth it. Amazing priced rooms, so clean , spotless bed sheets. They provide water bottles, coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the rooms which all have beautiful decor bits such as homely mugs and pillows. 100% would come back again and again!! There’s a guy local in the village that only charges £10 to take you in and out of the centre too. Lovely chap !
