Very welcoming staff and very comfortable room. Food was excellent. We came here as a stop off on our way through the area and we've booked to return next month when we travel back this way again.

Everything !! Beautifully decorated and clean. The host left us a welcome pack including a bottle of Prosecco. Thank you ! It was absolutely fabulous and we will definitely go back. Alston is lovely with nice pubs, everyone friendly and a fabulous cafe called Cobbles Cafe which we would highly recommend for breakfast or cake.

It's a charming hotel, and the staff are lovely and hard-working. It definitely has an old world ambience. My room was very clean, and nicely tidied while I was out. Breakfast was tasty, and I had a nice glass of wine in an otherwise empty lounge at night. I could have chosen to go to the bar, but preferred the quiet. Great location for cycling and hiking, and will definitely return. Lovely garden. Had a pleasant chat with a young man who works there, and who helped me out when I struggled with my door lock!
