We have stayed in the Birnbaumhof a number of times, and we returned to this area specifically to revisit. It didn't disappoint. Octavia and Hermann are still the best hosts - warm and welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble for them. It is a very comfortable guesthouse to stay in. We slept very well, thanks to a comfortable bed and quiet room. Breakfast is excellent with a big selection, and service is with a smile. The cooked breakfast is highly recommended. The area is very peaceful and quiet, and we had a much needed relaxing few days here. We hope that circumstances will allow us to stay here again in 2024. Overall excellent, and very good value for money. We would highly recommend, and a very big thank you to Octavia and Hermann for looking after us so well.

Had business at the Air Base in the morning. Found out the Base hotel was $150/night. Hotel Michaela was a few kilometers away. The room was very clean, modern, comfy bed, walking distance to restaurants, and one third the price of the base lodging. I needed to leave early and the morning hostess/staff got me a great breakfast together including a pot of coffee and fresh scrambled eggs. She opened the dining room just for me! Stellar customer service!

Location, price and staff 1 million % SUPER!!! The staff were so very helpful when I had a problem with my baggage!!! I cannot thank them enough!!! Grocery stores and restaurants are all within 2 minutes and bus and train station are 5 minutes away.

Proximity to base, price, the fun scavenger hunt way of getting information, nice room and bathroom. Comfortable. Could hear church bells and see planes flying in and out. Loved it.

The hotel is co-located with restaurant. The restaurant was fantastic! The little town of Otterbach is a hidden gem.

The apartment was well equipped. Everything you needed. Very spacious and quiet. Beds were comfortable. Big bathroom. Balcony was great for morning coffee and evening nightcap. Hosts very accommodating. Air conditioning was a great plus.
