The hosts, Oscar and Karen, were superbly welcoming and friendly. Our favourite stay in all of Costa Rica! Quiet clean rooms with comfortable beds, individual A/C in our room, private bathroom and good shower. Safe and private. Well-equipped kitchen and a delightful covered patio to relax. We spotted a variety of birds, iguana, and a far off monkey from there. Easy walk to stores, restaurants, the boat dock, and the Tortuguero National Park. Oscar has his on boat with a quiet trolling motor, and he gave us an early morning boat tour of the National Park canals. He’s wonderful guide at spotting wildlife- many birds, spider monkeys, caiman, lizards.

It was located right in front of the beach which is awesome. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a nice terrace with hammocks where you could relax and enjoy the view. Restaurants and other facilities on walking distance!

-great location looking right out on the river, easy walk to town, beach, national park -wonderful welcoming staff- the manager, Emmanuel was always accommodating and a knowledgeable resource on local conditions and activities. Fabian, our birding and nature guide on a canoe tour and on a jungle walk has a deep knowledge of all the local birds and is infectiously enthusiastic.
