For its price, Daichan House is a wonderful place to stay for anyone looking to spend a lot of time hiking in Yakushima. Daichan himself was incredibly nice and took great care of me, even driving me to the supermarket to help me prepare for my hiking trips. Without his help, advice and preparation, I would not have had nearly as much of an amazing trip as I did. The location is barely a 20 minute walk to the bus bound for Arakawa, which has an incredible trail that is definitely worth exploring. Seriously consider booking here if you come to Yakushima!

BBQ dinner is splendid with wagu beef, pork, chicken, scallops, shrimp, mushrooms, vege, etc. Learnt to bake a cake using a BBQ stove. Fully equipped with all necessities. Nice but rather busy Onsen facilities as shared with local people.
